Guided picnic tour in Karkali Strict Nature Reserve

Guided picnic tour in Karkali Strict Nature Reserve

The Karkali region is climatically special because it is a part of a rare oak zone in Finland. The natural park is the largest undivided grove area in mainland Finland, where thanks to mild climate and low calcareous soil, hazel shrubs, linden trees and many orchids thrive. During our trip, our guests can experience the unique nature and lake scenery of the Lohja region. Nature offers experiences for all senses: bird singing, forest scent and fresh water sources. Clean air is easy to breathe and the relaxing and refreshing effect of the forest is easy to feel. Along the trail there are two natural sources for the fresh water you can taste.

The nature park is a wonderful experience for all seasons from spring to summer greens and the autumn colors of old aspers. With a good chance we could see a glimpse of a spotted nutcracker. The route we walk is about 2 km long and somewhat challenging, so it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. We'll enjoy our picnic it the nature. At the end of the trail, we can admire Lake Lohjanjärvi, which is the largest lake in southern Finland. It has been a source of inspiration for many artists as well as an important trade route from coast to inland.
